HelpMore Donation Form Redesign for Blackbaud

In my senior year capstone class, three fellow classmates and I collaborated on a project for Blackbaud named "HelpMore." Our initiative aimed to enhance the online donating experience for fundraisers on JustGiving's website through the creation of a predictive donation form.

To achieve this goal, my team and I developed a sophisticated back-end system. This system tracked users' cookies and calculated their propensity scores. The information gathered from cookies played a pivotal role in determining the donation prices displayed to users, contributing to a more personalized and efficient online donation experience.

User Stories and Value Statements

To maintain organization and ensure project alignment, my team and I leveraged Trello as our project management tool. Adopting the SCRUM methodology throughout the semester, we conducted regular bi-weekly meetings with our client. Following each sprint, we presented our progress, allowing us to gather valuable feedback and make informed adjustments to further refine our work.

Personas & User Flow

Crafting personas that encompass diverse backgrounds, ages, occupations, and more is instrumental in recognizing and addressing the distinct needs of various individuals. Through my experience, this practice has significantly enhanced my ability to empathize and make informed product decisions.

Additionally, mapping out user flows has played a pivotal role in delineating the journey a prototypical user takes on our page to accomplish a task. This process ensures a comprehensive understanding of the user's interaction with the product and facilitates the creation of a seamless and intuitive experience.

Wireframes and Paper Prototypes

Starting off, I created simple wireframes to design the general layout of the page. These prototypes served as a valuable tool, enabling my team and me to swiftly visualize and experiment with different ideas. Subsequently, we conducted testing on our prototypes, seeking feedback from both fellow classmates and our professor to refine and enhance our design.

UI- Visual Design

Using Figma, I transformed my research findings and low-fidelity prototypes into a vibrant and engaging reality. Incorporating a thoughtful use of color, impactful photography, and enlarging the charities' logos, we underwent a significant shift in the user experience. These enhancements not only captivated users but also provided a clear and compelling insight into the destination of their donations, fostering a deeper connection between donors and the charitable causes they supported.
