Data Protocol Platform
Welcome to my journey of transforming Data Protocol, a web-based learning and communication platform focused on scaling developer communications and driving engagement. As the UI/UX Designer for Data Protocol, I had the opportunity to reimagine and redesign the entire platform, delivering an enhanced user experience that aligns seamlessly with the company's rebranding. For this project, I'll talk about my process from conceptualization to launch, highlighting how I elevated the platform's usability, engagement, and visual appeal.

Skills
Understanding the Vision
At the outset, I collaborated closely with stakeholders to understand the project's objectives and goals. Through in-depth discussions, we clarified the target audience, explored the new branding guidelines, and defined the desired user experience. These insights laid the foundation for the transformative redesign that was to follow.
User Research and Analysis
To ensure that the new design would effectively meet the needs of Data Protocol's target audience, extensive user research was conducted. This involved analyzing user behavior, identifying pain points, and discovering opportunities for improvement. Through surveys, interviews, and usability testing, I gained valuable insights that informed the design decisions.
Information Architecture and Wireframing
Based on the gathered insights, the next step was to define the information architecture and create wireframes. This stage focused on organizing content, defining user flows, and creating a clear navigation structure. Iterative wireframing helped visualize the layout and interactions while ensuring optimal usability.
Visual Design and Branding Alignment
With the wireframes serving as a foundation, I focused on creating a visually appealing design that aligned with Data Protocol's rebranding. This included defining a new color palette, typography, and visual elements. By incorporating the company's new branding, the platform's interface gained a fresh and cohesive look.

Prototyping and Iteration
Once the visual design was established, interactive prototypes were developed using Figma. These prototypes allowed for testing and gathering feedback at an early stage. Iterative refinements were made based on the feedback received, ensuring that the design met both user expectations and business goals.
Launch and Post-Launch Analysis
The launch of the redesigned platform was an exciting milestone. After the launch, I closely monitored user feedback and conducted usability tests to identify areas for improvement. This iterative process ensured that the platform continued to evolve and deliver an exceptional user experience. Below is an example of before and after user feedback and shift of business goals for the homepage.
Before User Feedback
Popular Topics Section: Users found the popular topics cards visually incomplete, giving the impression of a loading issue.
Section Label Fonts: Stakeholders expressed concerns about the bold font size for section labels, which didn't fit the available space well.
After Feedback and Shift of Business Objectives
Popular Topics Section: Adjusting colors, outlining the cards, filling empty space, and adding content count resolved visual and UX issues.
Section Label Fonts: Resizing and changing the font highlighted content rather than labels.
Hero Featured Content: Highlights new content with a vibrant touch.
Partner Content Section: Guides users to dedicated learning content for employees of partner companies, enhancing brand visibility.
Conclusion
The redesign of the Data Protocol platform involved understanding user needs, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering a seamless interface. By leveraging user research, thoughtful information architecture, and visually appealing design, the platform now provides an enhanced user experience. Continuous post-launch analysis and refinement ensure ongoing improvement, aligned with Data Protocol's new branding. Live Website
